As a leader in providing consulting engineering services in the Northwest, we are currently seeking a qualified individual for the following open position in our Portland, Oregon office: 

STAFF GEOLOGIST/ SCIENTIST

PBS Engineering and Environmental Inc. (PBS) has an opening for a full time staff-level geologist/scientist to join the Environmental Services team in our Portland office. Duties will include field and reporting tasks for environmental site assessments, construction oversight, UST assessment and decommissioning, cleanup projects, and other related activities. Our ideal candidate has recent experience working with Oregon/Washington environmental regulations, can help deliver high-quality, detail-oriented work products, enjoys working outdoors, and wants to be part of a successful and growing environmental practice.

Position requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in geosciences, environmental science or an applicable science-related field
  • 3 to 6 years of environmental site assessment (Phase I / II and UST) experience
  • Good critical thinking, data evaluation, and organizational skills
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER and current 8-hour refresher mandatory
  • Experience working with Oregon and Washington environmental regulations
  • Able to work as part of a team with diverse backgrounds and skills
  • Current UST licenses (Oregon/Washington) are highly desirable

The successful candidate will be results-oriented, flexible, and creative and will benefit from working closely with a company-wide network of professional hydrogeologists, geologists, scientist, and engineers.
